Colloquium: Who knows?

An interactive day where we move from knowledge to knowledges

AN INTERACTIVE DAY WHERE WE MOVE FROM KNOWLEDGE TO KNOWLEDGES

We are happy to welcome you on the 28th of April during our event: Who knows? An interactive day where we move from knowledge to knowledges, on Friday the 28th of April, from 9:00 to 17:30 at Pianofabriek.

In a world where knowledge is a few fingerprints away, knowledge feels unlimited. The reality is that knowledge comes in certain boxes. During this colloquium we are looking for the plural of knowledge, knowledges. We share the stage with overlooked knowledges from different disciplines.

For this event we invited keynote speaker Aminata Caïro to talk about how to diversify knowledge and how we should hold space for stories that are often overlooked, silenced, marginalized or dismissed.

WHO KNOWS? is a day filled with panels, talks and workshops. Hadje Sadje will tell us more about his experiences on decolonizing academic eurocentric research on religion. Fiona Nziza (Louvain Coopération / UNI4COOP) and Christil Asamoah will discuss the dangers of diversity washing. We will learn more about the positionality of research with Emma-Lee Amponsah, and Gracia Lwanzo Kasongo will explain more about the voices from the margin. Francesca Sobande takes the plurality of knowledge into practice, and with Pascal Debruyne, we will learn about research with refugees.

Join us to reflect on the movement from knowledge to knowledges.
